Care Instructions

WASHING YOUR FLEET GRAPHICS

The difference is nite and day

HAND WASHING
1. Using a hose, rinse off dirt particles with clean water.
2. Wash from the top downward using a wet, non-abrasive cleaning detergent with a pH between 3 and 11
that does not contain solvents or alcohol.
3. Follow all manufacturers’ directions for care, safety instructions, and use of their cleaning solutions. Be
sure to pay attention to the dilution instructions as too strong of a mixture can damage your graphics.
Do not allow cleaning solutions to remain on the surface of the graphics any longer than instructed.
4. Use only soft brushes and sponges and wash gently. Excessive scrubbing may scratch the graphics.
5. Using a hose, rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all of the cleaning solutions.

PRESSURE WASHING
1. A pressure of 1200 psi and a water temperature of 120°F should not be exceeded.
2. Use a nozzle with a 40-degree wide spray pattern.
3. Keep the nozzle at least 12″ away from the graphics, and keep the water stream perpendicular o the
surface. Decal edges may lift if pressurized water is applied at a sharp angle.
4. Wash from the top downward using a wet, non-abrasive cleaning detergent with a pH between 3 and 11
that does not contain solvents or alcohol.
6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all of the cleaning solutions.
7. Perforated window film can be damaged easily by pressure washers. It is strongly recommended to
hand-wash perforated window film.

AUTOMATIC WASHING
1. Automatic washers need to have a pre-rinse station to remove loose dirt particles before the brushes
make contact with the graphics. Dirt particles in brushes will scratch the decal surface. If your washing
unit does not have a pre-rinse, then rinse off the loose dirt with a hose prior to automatic washing.
2. Use a wet, non-abrasive cleaning detergent with a pH between 3 and 11 that does not contain solvents
or alcohol.
3. Brushes need to be soft and non-abrasive to the graphics.
4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all of the cleaning solutions.

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
It is up to the end user to determine what is appropriate for their cleaning requirements. In general,
you want to use the weakest cleaning solution that gets the job done. If you are evaluating a new
cleaning detergent, be sure to test it on a single unit before using it across your fleet.
